The image of a smiling American Cleric, full of emotion, blinking back tears on the Balcony of St Peter’s Square, is an image I shall not soon forget. Kind-faced, the Holy Father, a humble man, a familiar face, resembling that of Pope Saint John Paul II!
The year is 2013. Pope Benedict the XVI has surprisingly resigned, to the shock of most of the world. Some of us are not too shocked because, when Pope Benedict was elected after Saint Pope John Paul II, our thinking was “oh he has been elected at a very old age”. However, God would prove Himself right as the Pope Benedict XVI would live for 17 more years after his installation as Pope before being called to eternity.
